Full-Time Accounting and Billing Supervisor

• Pay Rate: To be negotiated.
• Description:  Responsible for the accurate and timely maintenance of the city's financial, budgeting and accounting systems in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Individual will assist in the supervision of supporting staff to include utility billing, accounting, and fixed assets. Assist the Director of Finance citywide with revenues and expenditures. Make judgemental decisions in the absence of the Director and oversees other functions with the Department.

• Qualifications:  Experience in technical accounting work supplemented by college level course work in accounting or bookkeeping. Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Must possess an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Must have a minimum of two (2) years of progressive supervisory experience in general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and budgeting. Three (3) years' experience in a municipal government finance environment and integrated financial accounting system is preferred. Must be literate to include MSWord, Excel, Outlook and Internet. Requires a valid Texas driver's license.
