Utilities

The City of Los Fresnos, East Rio Hondo Water Supply and Olmito Water Supply provide water and wastewater services to different areas in the City.

To verify the provider at your residence you must call city hall for verification.

Connecting New Utility Services (City of Los Fresnos as Provider)

New customers requesting water, waste-water, and solid waste services with the City of Los Fresnos, can apply in person at Los Fresnos City Hall.
Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license or state issued ID
• RENTERS: A formal rental lease/agreement if renting is required
• OWNERS: Closing documents or proof of ownership is required
• Completed Utility Service Application
• A $150 deposit and $25 connection fee due at time of application
• In additional to the items listed above, commercial establishment, must apply for a certificate of occupancy prior to applying for utility services

The City of Los Fresnos provides wastewater in portion outside the city limits that are billed through East Rio Hondo Water Supply. No deposit or connection fee is required.
Requirements:  

• Valid driver’s license or state issued ID
• A formal rental lease/agreement if renting, otherwise closing documents of proof of ownership is required.
• Completed Sewer Service Application
• A 911 addressing letter provided by:
  •  Cameron County Emergency Communication District,

In areas where only garbage services are available.

• Valid driver’s license or state issued ID
• RENTERS: A formal rental lease/agreement if renting is required
• OWNERS: Closing documents or proof of ownership is required
• A $50 deposit is due at time of application
• Complete the Garbage Service Application
