IT DIRECTOR

JOB SUMMARY

Perform systems analysis, design and development; performs maintenance of computer hardware and software.  Research and critique operating systems and applications for applicability to city systems.  Assist in the daily operations of the city intranet and network services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Manage the planning and development of internet and network services for use by the City departments.  Administer, manage, and operate the City network, servers, workstations, and internet/information services.  Manage set-up, installation and maintenance of servers and workstations throughout City departments.  Provide technical assistance and support to all users.  Design standardization of set-ups for workstations and remote user access.  Perform other technology related duties as required, such as audio/video, streaming, virtual meetings, unique requirements for public safety (in car cameras, ticket writers, etc).  Develop a comprehensive equipment replacement program.  Responsible for budgeting for all aspects of technology.  Oversees all sub-contractor work to be done concerning technology.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college of technical school with a major in Computer Science or related field; or three years’ experience in networking and using Microsoft operating systems; or a combination of education and experience demonstrating the required proficiency.
